A further discussion on antiviruses & Linux
Let’s continue that rather unusual discussion with Antivirus in Linux Security Landscape: Protecting Your Freedom – as I said before, when writing this series of articles I was caught rather a gasp that the consideration actually has a great degree to consider. Yes, it’s been the case that Linux’s design proves robust against conventional malware (and, note, that ‘antivirus’ is a misnomer for modern threat detection utilities, however conventional malware are foreseeably no longer relevant with the implementation of significantly more advanced attack vectors right around the corner.
Not that it’s all doom & gloom, of course – take Sophos Hitman and many others as examples of proactive design.
Furthermore, there’s plenty of movement to this end, but as always in cyber-security it’s a race between who adapts to what first and quickly enough.
